The IRS is investigating the United Church of Christ over a speech Barack Hussein Obama gave to its national meeting last year after he became a candidate for president.

Hussein Obama is a member of the church.

A spokesman for the denomination says it received notice of the inquiry on Monday.

The IRS says there is reason to believe the speech violated restrictions on political activity for nonprofit groups. The denomination denies any wrongdoing.  Of course they did.

Church officials say they had consulted with lawyers before the Socialist June 2007 speech and made clear before Hussein Obama’s address that he was speaking as a church member, not a political candidate.

NOTE; Is it me  or did Hussein’s church change some of it’s web site content?  I could have swore it mentioned The Black Value System before but now I can’t find it..

Very interesting article regarding a bill I wasn’t very familiar with.  Enjoy and beware…  TRM

Obama’s Substance Finally Revealed in Proposed Legislation

For all the evasive flummery that the Obama apparatchiks are packaging for consumption by the true believers, the time had to come for Senator “BHO/JFK” to attach his name to something resembling a bill or legislation. For all the circumvention and forestalling, and for the battening down of the hatches on the Democratic Pandora’s box of involuntary socialism, the seams had to eventually give way. Thus, the carefully choreographed candidate was “liberated” from the shadows of anonymity with absolutely no fanfare.

Terrorists Still Have the Advantage

America, by the inaction of the U.S. House of Representatives, has been weakened substantially in fighting terrorism.

As I reported last week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) and her left-wing allies decided to leave Washington without voting on the bipartisan Senate bill that would have extended key provisions of the Protect America Act, a bill that is essential for America’s ability to quickly and deftly track terrorist communications overseas.

This abdication of responsibility by such a high-ranking member of our government has been the most amazing anti-national security action by Congress in decades.

Well, well, well, John McCain apologizes today for one of his supporters, talk radio host Bill Cunningham, referring to Hussein Obama by his name.   By his name!  I don’t know about the rest of you, but he just showed me how much heart he has.  If he can’t stand up to the liberal syphilis in this small matter then he won’t if he’s in the White House.  This should make each and every one of you sick.  I don’t care what reasoning he gives for apologizing, he did it, the liberal’s saw him do it, and now they know he’s a punk.  A weak, spineless, punk.

Heritage Lecture #1061

Delivered October 16, 2007

It is a particular pleasure for me to be participating in an event hosted by my friend and former boss John Bolton. I have never known a more dedicated public servant than John.

I also want to note the extraordinary contribution of Senator Norm Coleman in helping us understand and deal effectively with the United Nations. He follows in a line of distinguished Senators—I think especially of Jesse Helms and Pat Moynihan—who understood the nature of the U.N. and were able to distinguish in a clear-eyed way between the idealistic hopes that we all share for international cooperation to advance peace and prosperity and the reality of a bureaucratic institution whose watchword, both for staff and delegates, is unaccountability.

What does that debacle have to do with anything today you may ask yourself.  Well, I’m currently reading a book titled, Useful Idiots, by Mona Charen.  Pretty good read, it gives an account of how liberals tend to re-write history to cover up their role in anti-America activities.  There was an excerpt at the end of a paragraph in chapter 7, that really struck me as a glaring example of the syphilis that is liberalism.  But I’ll have to get back to that.

An extensive archive of the Clinton/Reno catastrophe can be found here, highlighting the entire Elian Gonzalez event.  We won’t go into it too much here because that is not the point I’m trying to make.  I would encourage you to read some of it for, if nothing else, a reminder of the Clinton/Reno clusterfuck.  Clinton and Reno, always with the children in mind, can you say WACO?

Say a hurricane is about to destroy the city you live in. Two questions:

  1. What would you do?
  2. What would you do if you were black?

Sadly, the two questions don’t have the same answer.

To the first: Most of us would take our families out of that city quickly to protect them from danger. Then, able-bodied men would return to help others in need, as wives and others cared for children, elderly, infirm and the like.

For better or worse, Hurricane Katrina has told us the answer to the second question. If you’re black and a hurricane is about to destroy your city, then you’ll probably wait for the government to save you.

Calvin_Coolidge_-743532 Have you ever heard of a politician who didn’t love to talk?  Calvin Coolidge, the thirtieth president, was not your run-of-the-mill politico.  Coolidge was dubbed "Silent Cal" for good reason: He was an austere New Englander who wasn’t fond of making speeches or even small talk.

One night, Silent Cal piqued the curiosity of a young woman seated next to him at a White House dinner party.  "Mr. President," she said, "I made a bet with a friend that I could get you to say more than three words to me tonight."  Coolidge turned to her and replied cooly, "You lose."

ATT6092694 Presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards were flying to a convention.

Barack looked at Hillary, chuckled and said, ‘You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out of the window right now and make somebody very happy.’

Hillary shrugged her shoulders and replied, I could throw ten $100 bills out of the window and make ten people very happy.’

John added, ‘That being the case, I could throw one hundred $10 bills out of the window and make a hundred people very happy.’

Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his co-pilot, ‘Such big-shots back there’. I could throw all of them out of the window and make 156 million people very happy.’

An In-depth Look at Article 9 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

Last week, we began our series on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) by looking at the Convention’s central focus on the "best interests of the child," which allows the government to substitute its will for that of the parents. This principle is significant as we turn our attention to one of the first rights that the CRC grants to children: the right to remain in their family.

THE RIGHT TO A FAMILY… ALMOST

At first glance, Article 9 of the CRC may appear harmless and even idyllic: "a child shall not be separated from his or her parents against their will, except when competent authorities subject to judicial review determine, in accordance with applicable law and procedures, that such separation is necessary for the best interests of the child." But despite references to "competent authorities" and "judicial review," a closer examination quickly reveals that the emphasis on the child’s "best interests" grants the government broad latitude to intervene in the family.

The role of a reporter or journalist, so far as I can gather, is to relay information from a source to an "audience".  Right?  Opinion has slowly creeped it’s way into reporting but  that’s not where I have a beef.

My beef is this.

Someone commits a crime, say murder or rape.  For the next week, months or years the faces of the "perp" and victim are blasted on the television for all to see.  OK, your reporting the news.  Fine.  But what your also doing is punishing the innocent family of the criminal and punishing the victim’s family by repeatedly showing the sometimes graphic horrible details over and over again.  Am I the only one bothered by this?

So USA Today — our nation’s high school paper — ran a piece noting that dozens of cities with populations over 100,000 haven’t lost a service member in the Iraq War.

Experts suggested that recruits probably come from less-populated areas with crummier economies, so their career choices are limited — unlike big cities, where jobs at strip clubs make military service unnecessary.

But, oddly enough, the cities with the most dead? New York City, Houston and San Antonio — which aren’t rural at all. I bet they even have cool jobs there, like editing newspapers!

Aside from making no sense at all, the paper seems to be saying that people enlist because they have no choice, not because they are patriotic. The reason is one of desperation, never of conviction.

I don’t agree. But even if I did, so what if the military offers a better future? It certainly beats hanging on a corner in Oakland, Baltimore or Detroit. My guess is you’d have a better chance getting shot there than in Bagdad.

Finally, let’s imagine what USA Today headlines might have been like in 1944. How about: "Top 10 Reasons Invading Normandy Is a Bad Idea" or "Berkeley Professors Urge Americans to Start Learning German."

I bet they would all come with colorful pie charts.

And if you disagree with me, then you sir are worse than Hitler!

The speeding freight train carrying toxic waste liability for makers, sellers and purchasers of compact fluorescent lightbulbs, or CFLs, was only faintly audible in the distance last spring when this column first warned of it. Now we’re beginning to see that environmentalist-stoked train speed toward its victims, whom President Bush and Congress just finished tying to the tracks.

CFLs and all other fluorescent lightbulbs require special clean-up and disposal procedures because they contain small amounts of mercury, which is neurotoxic at sufficiently high exposures. For example, you’re not supposed to vacuum breakage or toss used bulbs in household trash.

It seems that we are more concerned about violation of the rights of those scummy characters, who would love to trample us under their stinking feet, than about protecting the right to life and freedom of American citizens.

Our Constitution was not created to protect every low life on this earth.  It was designed to protect Americans, period.  When these deranged idiots attempt to destroy life and property in the USA, they should be doing their dirty deeds at their own risk, and our Constitution should not be brought into play. Much has been said about the treatment of prisoners of war at Guantanamo, and how the "mean old Americans" are denying them their constitutional rights. Well, damn!!.  How can that be???  They have no rights or protection under our Constitution.  The only thing that comes to mind, which would offer them some comfort is the Geneva Conference, and that document has been twisted so much that it can no longer be read or interpreted.

form_1040fu ALEXANDRIA, VA - The Internal Revenue Service has released its newest tax form that promises to revolutionize the way Americans file their taxes. The form, dubbed 1040FU, alleviates the filer of any possibility of audits, fines or penalties by utilizing the Services’ ‘financial underling’ enrollment system. Filers simply provide bank account and credit card access information, and the IRS calculates and collects taxes electronically.

"This form defines the essence of the Internal Revenue Service’s principles." says Lawrence Guilland, Deputy Chief of Form Development. "It separates the filer from the emotional trauma of determining their tax burden, and allows the service direct access to private funds. It’s what we’ve been working towards for 95 years."
Initial reaction to the new form has been mixed. "As long as I don’t have to add and stuff, I’m all for it." said Val Karnazey, local umbrella salesman and street entertainer. "I usually get money back anyway, so I guess they’ll pay off my credit cards for me."
