Obama’s Substance Finally Revealed in Proposed Legislation

For all the evasive flummery that the Obama apparatchiks are packaging for consumption by the true believers, the time had to come for Senator “BHO/JFK” to attach his name to something resembling a bill or legislation. For all the circumvention and forestalling, and for the battening down of the hatches on the Democratic Pandora’s box of involuntary socialism, the seams had to eventually give way. Thus, the carefully choreographed candidate was “liberated” from the shadows of anonymity with absolutely no fanfare.

BHO/JFK’s emergence onto the progressive-regressive stage takes the form of S. 2433, or the “Global Poverty Act.” Within each of its fetid paragraphs, one will discover everything that his handlers were hoping to avoid and everything the rest of us knew has been hard wired into the Democratic genus for decades. His groomers were relying on his sing-song sonnets of vacuity to carry him ad infinitum. His disciples will swallow his Eucharist of stupidity; the rest of us will look to his limited experience.

Like all Socialist endeavors, it opens with grandiose goals that the liberals have absolutely no intention of actually rectifying. “The elimination of extreme poverty,” for example, is about as achievable as the resurrection of the “Democratic patriot.” With the left, results are of no consequence. The liberal “means” to do good, so that is all that matters. His or her intentions are grounded within the irrefutable presence of self-conferred moral halos.

From the opening bell, the redistributionist harps and violins begin scratching out the liberal theme song. (We are the World. We are the children.) This bill begins with “The reduction of Global Poverty,” “the elimination of extreme global poverty,” and “reducing by one-half those who live on less than $1 per day.” Quick logic/history lesson: The liberals have failed miserably in their domestic “War on Poverty” initiated in 1964, which has cost the American taxpayer untold trillions. What would make anyone think that simply “expanding the territory” while utilizing the same tactics, would somehow be successful if eradicating poverty were the actual goal? Never mind, BHO/JFK means well, so pay up and shut up.

Section two, entitled “Findings,” advises us that two and a half billion people “struggle to survive on less than less than $2 a day.” Assuming the veracity of that statistic, the problem is the liberal methodology relative to a “cure for this malaise.” The liberal nomenclature dictates the sempiternal throwing of money at a problem as a “cure.” Based on the miserable track record, the liberal idea of a “cure” for obesity would be continual trips to the buffet line.

When the left sees a problem, the problem must be immediately tagged as an “epidemic” or a “pandemic” in order to advance the necessary hysteria for action. Obviously, 2.6 billion people “struggling” fits that bill rather nicely.

One argument is that the United States must “improve life for the world’s poorest people.” Again, refer back to the domestic lack of success at poverty reduction. Irrelevant they say, because their intentions are pure. What is our “exit plan” in this “World Wide War on Poverty”? Do we have “coalition partners” or are we a “rogue nation” striking out on our own?

Section 2.4 is a liberal laundry list of lachrymose demands, which the left believes can be permanently remedied by the monetary life preserver provided by “Mother America’s” involuntary tax providers.

Section 2.6 gets down to the heart of what is really wrong. “A world where some live in comfort and plenty, is neither just nor stable.” That one sentence lanced from this boil of a bill should properly demonstrate the liberal provenance of BHO/JFK. They’ve covered all of the necessary collectivist bases. It’s “just not fair.” They have upped the ante with the “terrorism/poverty” fiction in order to amp up the hysterical hyperbole. Terrorism is “enabled” by poverty. Context primer: Explain Osama bin Laden. He has almost as much wealth as the entire state of Arkansas (now that the Clintons have left). Wasn’t the failed terrorist attack in London carried out by a group of physicians? This politically correct poverty fable by Aesop is pathetically revisited within Section 2.8 for good measure.

Section 2.11 is our first of three exposures to the “HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and Malaria Act Initiative” (22 U.S.C. 7601 et esq). After all of the millions of dollars gathered by rock stars-turned-humanitarians, it seems that we can’t “buy” our way out of this AIDS “epidemic.” So just put together another act or initiative so that we will “feel good about ourselves.” It has been said that money can’t buy happiness, but to the left, redistributing other people’s money can buy their happiness. Regarding malaria, thank the hysterical left and its paranoia over DDT for this disease’s resurgence.

Section 2.14 instructs that we should “invest in the people, rule justly, and promote economic freedom.” “Invest in the people?” Typically breezy communist clap trap. This “investment” will be forcibly extracted from Americans and “redistributed globally.” It is a liberal dream come true. This “investment” is then given to a “country” or a “government” (Read: dictator) where the people are “starving and living on a dollar a day.” Never mind that this dictator or this puppet government is the reason for all of this “poverty and starvation.” This investment will be redistributed into said dictator’s off-shore bank accounts and will be used to refurnish said Dictators palace — problems solved, liberal style! “Rule justly”? Liberals believe Castro “rules justly” and President Bush is a “fascist.” “Promote economic freedom”? BHO/JFK and his acolytes actively advance programs and initiatives expressly created to stifle and suffocate economic freedom.

Section 4.d.ii. refers to the “contributions provided by the United States.” “Contributions?” Doesn’t that sound very voluntary, as if BHO/JFK were making a request for a donation? When a liberal politician makes a request, there is nothing voluntary about it.

Section 5 ends this “Act” with “Definitions.” Let me interpret the definitions within this act for you. “Global Poverty”: Someone else’s problem created by a liberal poster boy dictator; “Improve the world”, “live in comfort and plenty”, “invest in the people”, “rule justly”: Papa Joe Stalin is justifiably proud of his inexperienced understudies first steps towards reclaiming the “World Collectivist Bully Pulpit” for the real “red statists.”

Those who have been spinning on the BHO/JFK Lazy Susan of vapid imagery need to read the “Global Poverty Act.” It is an insightful dose of Dramamine for those inexperienced in the ways of the Democratic demagogues.
