truncheon copy Who could have ever imagined that an ingenious device invented 151 years ago, would fall flat at the time but finally find a use in modern times.  My friends I would like to introduce the Spiked Truncheon.

The Commission of Patents refused it’s recognition so many years ago for reason’s unknown, but lo and behold I think it is something that deserves another look.  It was intended for the protection of policemen and constables.  It was hollow, and when it was grasped by any one trying to wrest it from the policemen, the latter can, by pulling the trigger, force out a number of small spikes.  The spikes of course causing the unruly citizen to let go.  Outstanding!

So, I would like to recommend that all policemen in the United States be issued one of these for the times a mob of liberal pinko scumbags gather to scream and yell about the evil, imperialistic America.  Please deploy liberally…

Damn, if this thing was actually ever employed by police officers you could bet the ACLU, NAACP, trial lawyers, and criminal rights groups (do we have those yet? I’m sure if we don’t it will happen soon) will be all over that.

Still, an ingenious weapon that actually makes sense.
