TENNESSEE: HOME SCHOOL DIPLOMA = GARBAGE

Recently, the Tennessee State Board of Education ruled diplomas issued to home-schooled students from religious based schools were invalid as proof of the successful completion of High School should it be presented for employment purposes for a job for which state law requires a diploma. You read that right. According to the State Board of Education, all diplomas are equal but some diplomas are more equal than others.
Well why not? The insidious Teachers Union is a nationwide disease, and what works for Californians must work for the rest of the nation, right? Only a matter of time before such a policy makes it’s way to your neighborhood. Hold on to your kids tight folks, they’re (socialist democrats) coming for them.
Who cares if home schooled kids fare better on test scores and no doubt function better in society after being shielded from such fine public school agenda’s as global warming indoctrination, homosexual brainwashing and social etiquette training?

“Curriculum” (see some popular definitions, here) does not refer to the traditional three “R’s” (Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic), being taught in the schools. It applies to a systematic learning program. It refers to the overall framework and ideology in which all of the learning content is presented to the students. Social activists in the public school system can easily indoctrinate the state’s children with their ideas in a state-sponsored “curriculum.” They cannot, do this, in a home, where the parents are choosing the so-called “curriculum,” and usually incorporating their family’s values into the courses being taught and learned there.
As the Fonz would say, “Exactamuhndo.” If your kid isn’t in their clutches they can’t turn them into the next generation of serfs for their utopian socialist world, not to mention the money they lose by not having your child in class. Whoo, that really throws the liberal socialist Teachers Union into a tizzy!
So to all of you home schooled graduates, the message given to you by Tennessee State Board of Education is this. Your diploma is about as useful as a single Kleenex at a rib eating contest.
