Just heard this on the radio and I did a little digging.
Friends of New Orleans is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, membership organization that provides a vehicle for people in the US and abroad who care about this region, to declare their support and get involved.
The Board of Directors host a few socialist party regulars like, Donna Brazile and James Carville to name just a few. So why would a non-profit, non-partisan 501c3 charity be spending, I hear, upwards of $50million on a party for the socialist? And have they also thrown a party for the republicans?
George Soros is one of the most powerful men on earth. A New York hedge fund manager, he has amassed a personal fortune estimated at about $7.2 billion. His management company controls billions more in investor assets. Since 1979, his foundation network — whose flagship is the Open Society Institute (OSI) — has dispensed an estimated $5 billion to a multitude of organizations whose objectives are consistent with those of Soros. (The President of OSI and the Soros Foundation Network is Aryeh Neier, who, as Director of the socialist League for Industrial Democracy, personally created the radical group Students for a Democratic Society in 1959.) With assets of $859 million as of 2005, OSI alone donates scores of millions of dollars annually to these various groups, whose major agendas can be summarized as follows:

Thank a democrat(S) for the "gimme", uneducated, permanently government-dependant, underclass. The New Deal coming out of the depression has long since passed its usefulness like so many laws and programs from decades ago. When will the black community realize that no body owes them anything and those that appear to help with handouts are only there to keep you down and use you. Please black citizens, open your eyes! Sadly, it is so much a lifestyle learned from generation to generation, it may never find a happy ending. But it must end.
WASHINGTON , DC - Congress is considering sweeping legislation which will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.
One day a fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their mothers did for a living.
All the typical answers came up — teacher, nurse, businesswoman, saleswoman, doctor, lawyer, and so forth.
However, little Justin was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the teacher prodded him about his mother, he replied, "Well my mother’s an exotic dancer in a cabaret and takes off all her clothes in front of men and they put money in her underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is really good, she will go home with some guy and stay with him all night for money."
This post is from Writer Chick’s Blog and was originally written last year Septemberish time frame. It’s one of the more popular post at my old blog and as we get closer to November ‘08, it is a good read to say the least. Enjoy!
The 08 elections aren’t too far off and the campaigning will really wind up once Labor Day weekend hits, so I’ve been thinking politics lately. Not the day to day stuff, sometimes I can’t keep up and frankly, sometimes, it’s just too much. But I do like speculate and look at the landscape sometimes.
I’ve made no secret that I’m not a Hillary fan and have gotten in my cracks about her with the occasional post - but this time I want to spell out why I feel as I do. Don’t worry, it won’t be too political. And really some of my reasons may surprise.
1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.
2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. Nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.
4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.
